Ministry

Since 2017, Lydia’s Mission has served women and children living in poverty in eManzana, South Africa using a Christ-centered approach and economic self-sustaining ministry.

As the ministry has grown over the past few years, we have expanded from a small sewing project to large farm and feeding project. While the heart of our work has remained the same, our ministry continues to change to meet the needs of our community and answer to God’s call for our work.

A Note From Claire

God has been calling me to the mission field for as long as I can remember. What I didn’t know is how many lives He would intertwine in my journey along the way. As partners of Lydia’s Mission, you are helping to meet the physical needs of women as they earn a regular income. As physical needs are met, you’ve made room for God to transform their hearts.

The hunger, desperation, and death I see almost daily is a constant reminder of why I must remain on the mission field in South Africa, a country which is now in its worst economic decline in more than a century. We are seeing more and more people struggle with mental illness, hunger, starvation—and hopelessness.

However, there is much work still to be done to spread the Gospel and bring hope to the women suffering from generational poverty and the children experiencing chronic food insecurity.

Thank you for following God’s nudging to be part of something that matters … something bigger than all of us. It’s a real honor to serve alongside you.

Blessings,
Claire Brown

Empower a Woman. Impact Generations.

Lydia’s Mission empowers and teaches women skills in rural South Africa to feed, educate, and care for their children by earning a living wage. When a woman begins to grasp her value in Christ through discipleship and Biblical training, her life becomes the first ripple of hope… that will last for generations.
