2017: A Lydia’s Mission Year in Review

God has been moving in powerful ways this past year.

Lydia’s Mission has expanded in ways I could never have dreamed. Hope has been restored, the Gospel has been preached and many women have come into relationships with Christ. God has been so faithful.

As a Lydia’s Mission partner, your monthly and one-time financial support and prayers helps to secure regular income for South African women eager to feed, educate and provide for their families:

– The micro-business Lydia’s Market Sewing Project expanded significantly

– 9 fulltime Sewing women hired

– Made over 1000 stuffed animals with 5 products

– Sold in over 7 countries

– Purchased 6 sewing machines

– 5 Lydia’s Circle women’s groups meeting weekly this past

year

-About 100 women each week

– 3 of these groups met for the first time:

– Lydia’s Circle: Seniors

– Lydia’s Circle Farm Village

– Lydia’s Circle 2nd Generation

Full Belly = Happy Kid!

– Lydia’s Feeds stared 5 feeding sites providing a meal for 1000 kids daily and employing 7 cooks.

-23,000+ pounds of food delivered

– A ministry pickup truck was purchased and serves as a vital asset to the day-to-day ministry.

– Transported for the Sewing women

– Food and firewood deliveries

– Baptisms happened at the local garbage dump of the Lydia’s Circle Group.

Baptism in the local dump!

– A cow purchased for Christmas parties

– 313 pounds of beef served to 1000 kids for a special Christmas meal

– 1000 kids heard about Jesus!

– Chickens given to 25 families for Christmas

– One water tank installed for acommunity of 125 residents to have clean water

– Lydia’s Mission became an official NGO in South Africa

– Advisory Board created with 7 members to provide governance and guidance for the ministry

– 100 women had opportunities to make local handcrafts for sale to help support their families

– Countless faithful Lydia’s Mission supporters who helped make all of this happen.

– 1 mighty God who guided each step, decision and direction Lydia’s Mission took.

I’m so thankful for all the support, encouragement and kind words. Lydia’s Mission would not be were it is today without your support. Thank you for partnering with God to make a difference one life at a time!

God is continuing to move with a large expansion in the first quarter of 2018. Can’t wait to see what He is going to do this coming year!

Happy New Year!
