Water, Bibles and Jesus!

Ministry is in full force these past few weeks.  God is moving in unbelievable ways and to tell you the truth I am just trying to keep up!  I have been learning a lot from the Lord and pressing on to what he has called me to do. image2

BIBLES!

image1-2My group called Lydia Circle Seniors were able to be blessed this past week by receiving Bibles.  Words can not describe how happy they were.  One women even stated this was her first bible (at age 71)!  There are two main languages where I am at in South Africa so I was able to purchase 30 bibles in SiSwati and 30 Bibles in Zulu! These bibles will help provide many women from my different groups the word of God! There was smiles all around with dancing, singing and thanking Jesus.

WATER!IMG_4145

There is a place 15 Kilometers outside of Badplaas, where I live in South Africa. The Lord was telling me “I want you to go there and do ministry”. I asked one of my ministry partners Tendai to go with me. We went together and met an amazing family! They told us about their lives and were VERY welcoming. They told us their challenging they are facing. One of those challenges was their VERY UNCLEAN drinking water. The same water they bathe in, animals drink from, they drink from and we even found a dead animal in. They also told us they couldn’t sleep because of the hunger pains from not eating in days.IMG_4082

So we took action: we took food in order to help in the crisis of that moment while coming up with a plan long term. I since have started a women’s bible study group there called Lydia Circle: Farm IMG_4168Village. I will be starting handcrafts very soon for jobs (money for food) all while building relationships to help holistically. Then we talked to the local IMG_4079Municipality who said if they had water tanks then they would bring them clean water every week for free! So we took action. We build a stand and purchased two 5,000-liter water tanks and CLEAN DRINKING WATER for 150-200 people in this small farm village for the first time.

The Project took two days and on the third day water was delivered for the first time. We then hosted a dedication service where we talked about water verses the living water of Christ. It was a powerful moment with lots of smiles!

I have started yet another women’s group this one is called Lydia Circle: Farm Village. There was about 10 women at this first meeting.  It was a great time to get to know them and for them to get to know me.  Building trust is the first thing that must happen in order to move forward.  I had a bit of a relationship already because of the water project so that definitely helped.  We talked about Nicodemus and the Kingdom of God.  We end the time with sharing John 3:16 “for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  God was present in that moment.  Then one of the women began to tell us about how she had just mixed poison to commit suicide but instead of taking it she came today and gave her life to Christ! It was a powerful moment of remembering God’s perfect timing.

Empower a Woman. Impact Generations.

Lydia’s Mission empowers and teaches women skills in rural South Africa to feed, educate, and care for their children by earning a living wage. When a woman begins to grasp her value in Christ through discipleship and Biblical training, her life becomes the first ripple of hope…that will last for generations.
